Firefly, shmirefly

I'm a Joss Whedon junkie. I loved "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and of course, "Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog"... but I'd never seen "Firefly". Why? I probably didn't even know it was on TV when it was actually on TV. The show only lasted 14 episodes and was obviously short-lived. This happened with a previous show that I loved, "Invasion". So, I've given myself a challenge: watch all 14 episodes of "Firefly" by uhm.. who knows when. (It's available on Netflix :) WEE!) I'm always constantly catching up on my current TV shows online.. why not throw another into the mix?! So well see how it goes and what I think of it. I'm sure I'll love it and I don't even know anything about it. I just know that Joss Whedon owns my soul.

When families remind you of your own...

Book 10/50: If anyone is at all familiar with the wonders of Twitter, then they know that just about anyone can go on there and spread their thoughts which will in-turn spread to many others if people find your thoughts interesting enough. And so begins the wonderous journey of shitmydadsays- a "wonderful" Twitter account run by Justin Halpern which is just what he advertises: shit his dad says. Now, I became a big fan and I am an avid follower to his dad's quips. So, when I heard that Justin was offered a book deal, I had to read it. Imagine my satisfaction when I found Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern as an available download for my nook. I downloaded it and completed it this morning. Now, let me remind you that I am in the middle of about five books that could not keep my attention, so I really didn't need another book to add to my list. However, this book was a much-needed restart. It was short, sweet, to the point, and hysterical. While reading it, I really felt like I knew this awesome dad and found myself hoping that I could be in a room listening to his logical philosophy. I would buy a self-help book of just this man telling you how to deal with every situation. And let's just say as a side note, the writer(his son) is currently in the works of creating a pilot for his book. I WILL be looking forward to how that goes.
