The Halloween Costume Dilemma Continues...

This is actually really upsetting me now lol

I still cannot finalize what my costume will be this Friday. UGH! I contemplated Russel Brand... but do I really want to be a man and draw on stubble? I contemplated Antoine Dodson, but that has also become too mainstream. What to do, what to do?! I may just buy my backup and be a Harry Potter character. Curse you Halloween for being my favorite holiday of the year and the most important!

Emma Stone: My girl crush

R and I went out tonight and saw Easy A at the movie theater.

Side note: During the movie, we heard crazy noises. Turned out it was an insane amount of thunder going on outside. Apparently my choice to wear flip flops to the movies was a very poor one. Note to self - check the weather before deciding to wear flip flops.

Anyway, the movie was very funny. I'm a big Emma Stone fan. I don't know if it's her smoky voice or wonderful wit, but something about her just gets me going! Now, unfortunately to her dismay, I am straight. However, I'm still a fan.

Another side note: I just saw the trailer for Unstoppable. Is it me, or is it Speed but with a train?

Gym Day!

R and I joined a gym. Today will be day 1. I've located my sneakers (I HATE wearing sneakers, so I tend to misplace them), but I have no idea where any of my socks are. Apparently the laundry demon has taken all of them. It might be time to make an emergency stop to the store on the way to the gym. Why are socks always getting lost?!?! It doesn't matter how many packs of socks I buy - they always seem to disappear. I'm a firm believer that my dogs have a massive treasure of socks hidden somewhere. They're conspiring against me!

Oh well, first step- get socks. Second step- exercise the pounds away. Third step- cry because I have to go back to work tomorrow. How is my 3 day weekend already over?!

The Great Halloween Costume Dilemma

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays of the entire year. There's something about not being yourself for a day, that's a lot of fun. Now, for the last few years - R and I have had a tradition of having some pretty good costumes (If I do say so myself!)

In 2007 - I was a (not safe for work so I'm not posting a picture) Rutgers student who was on girls gone wild - and R was the camera man. It was more of a funny costume because the bulk of attendees at the Halloween party are Seton Hall alumni/students. (We hate Rutgers!)

In 2008 - R and I went political. I was Bristol Palin and he was her baby daddy, Levi Johnston. This was right before the election, of course:

In 2009 - R went as the unsuccessful 2009 NY Mets, and I went as the successful Twitter website :) HELLO Social Networking!

This is where my dilemma begins. For the life of me, I cannot decide on what I would like to be for Halloween this year! Yes, I've contemplated many ideas. My students say that I look like Snooki from Jersey Shore - so I may be Snooki at work to appease them. However, I am not banking on that for the Halloween party I attend because Snooki will be played out by everyone and their mother. I contemplated being Rita from Dexter... during the last season finale - EEK! I contemplated being a dead teacher - a victim of "Chris Christie". I also contemplated being Hermoine from Harry Potter - but it's just not funny. If only I could decide. HELP!!!!!

Book 20: Brrr it's cold!

I was in the middle of continuing the "Millenium Trilogy" when I decided to make use of the library at work. I teach in a high school, which means I have a ton of young adult novels at my disposal in the library! I've always been a big fan of Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I had no idea that she wrote other books. While browsing the library at work, I noticed several other books written by her and decided to check one out. The book I checked out was Wintergirls, and I read it in pretty much one day. It was a solid read. The character development and voice was fantastic. It tells the story of one girl coping with anorexia and the death of her ex-friend who was bulimic. I loved the book. Something about me draws me to books about people who are more messed up than I am. However, it was really interesting to see her anorexic point of view, considering I have always had my own issues with my weight and body image. I think the next book I'll be checking out is Twisted, by Laurie Halse Anderson, as well.
