Long time, no write

So.. apparently I haven't written here in awhile. This is mostly due to the fact that I started my full-time job immediately after my last post. Not only did I start that job, but I also went back to grad school... oh and the show I am in opened. I know, I know - there's no excuse for my lack of love to the blog. However, I needed the "citizens of the internets" to know that I am still alive!

In other news, R and I got a new baby yesterday. She's a parakeet or "budgie" as some owners call them. She's a cutie pie, but is still learning to trust us before she can come out of her cage. Neither of us has ever had a bird so this is definitely an experiment. Luckily, our 2 lovely pups haven't been home this weekend, so we're having some time to bond with the bird.  We're hoping once she learns to trust us she will become comfortable with the pups. I've actually seen several videos online with parakeets and chihuahuas - so I'm feeling really good about it.

Her name is "Joey". Why, you ask? Oh, just because my favorite show of all-time is Dawson's Creek. Yes, I am a huge nerd. Whatever. I just figured it's a "bouncy" name and she likes to bounce around her cage!

In other news, I'm currently in my first year of teaching physics. It's actually going well. The students are understanding the material which is making this a positive experience. If anyone is interested, the material is available at www.njpsi.org
